Shots Fired During Gunpoint Carjacking In Philadelphia: Authorities
A victim was shot at while fleeing the scene of a carjacking in Philadelphia last Tuesday, May 7, according to city police. Authorities said it happened around 5:15 a.m. on the 1300 block of Lindley Avenue. The carjacker got out of a Ford Taurus and entered the victim's Ford Fusion, police said. He forced the victim to drive a short distance, ordered him out of the car, then shot at him when he fled, according to investigators. The victim was not struck. The identity of a 3-year-old boy who wandered into a neighbor's pool around noon on a Sunday earlier this month has been released by his family. Pujan Chouhan is believed to have "walked away from his home on Wheatland Ave. unbeknownst to his family, and within a short amount of time had made his way onto a nearby residential property where the pool was located," East Hempfield Township Police investigators said. Lansdale drivers can expect detours over the weekend as work begins on the Main Street SEPTA track crossing, officials say. SEPTA workers will be removing and replacing the existing crossing surface, worn ties, and rails through the intersection, according to borough police. The family of a woman killed while swimming near her Atlantic City townhouse is has announced a lawsuit against the boater charged in her death. Norma Michaels, 79, of Atlantic City, died on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023, when she was hit by a boat propeller just off the dock of her South Boulevard Avenue townhome. State Vehicle Involved In I-78 Crash In Berks County, PA State Police Say
A crash truck was struck from behind on Interstate 78 on Monday afternoon, May 13, according to state police. Troopers said it happened around 2 p.m. near the Stump Road underpass in Maxatawny Township. The crash truck was stopped in the right westbound lane with its emergency lights flashing. A tractor-trailer was approaching from the west and "attempted to change lanes as the crash truck indicated," but was unable to do so or stop in time, state police said.
