Cyclists Look To Raise $700,000 For Charity In Purchase College Ride
HARRISON, N.Y. -- Hundreds of bicyclists will meet on the Purchase College campus on Sunday, Sept. 18, for the eighth annual Hudson Valley Bike Ride, raising funds for mental health, domestic violence and supportive housing programs.
The Jewish Board of Family and Children's Services hosts the event to raise funds in support of its programs that assist 43,000 New Yorkers of all religious, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds each year.
The event has a $700,000 goal, and it's already raised over $552,000, as of Thursday evening.

PURCHASE, N.Y. -- Dancer, choreographer and author Twyla Tharp restaurateur Danny Meyer will be featured in upcoming Castle Conversations at Manhattanville College.Twyla Tharp graduated from Barnard College in 1963. Since then, she's choreographed 129 dances, 12 TV specials, six movies, four ballets, four Broadway shows and two figure skating routines.
Tharp received a Tony Award, two Emmy Awards, 19 honorary doctorates, the Vietnam Veterans of America President’s Award, the 2004 National Medal of the Arts, the 2008 Jerome Robbins Prize, and a 2008 Kennedy Center Honor.
