Port Chester Dog Park Celebrates One Year Anniversary PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- The Village of Port Chester went to the dogs Saturday. Literally. The town's first dog park, at Abendroth Park, celebrated its one year anniversary. The day featured a proclamation from the village and 13 vendors including two rescue groups. Village residents including dog walkers had sought an exclusive area for pets for more than three years. Fundraising efforts by the Port Chester Dog Park Group -- and a $25,000 donation from the PetSafe brand earlier this year -- resulted in the special park off of Touraine Avenue. Cyclists Look To Raise $700,000 For Charity In Purchase College Ride HARRISON, N.Y. -- Hundreds of bicyclists will meet on the Purchase College campus on Sunday, Sept. 18, for the eighth annual Hudson Valley Bike Ride, raising funds for mental health, domestic violence and supportive housing programs.
