Man, Woman Killed In Hit-Run Crash In Region, Driver Caught, Police Say
A man and a woman were struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver while attempting to cross a busy roadway in the region.
The crash occurred in Ulster County around 9:30 p.m., Saturday, March 1 in the town of Marlboro.
According to Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police, a preliminary investigation revealed that Donna Cristallo, age 72, was pushing Stephen Celuch, age 75, both of Kingston, in his wheelchair attempting to cross Route 9W.

Inmate Assaults Corrections Officer At Capital Region Jail, Police Say
An inmate at a local jail is facing more charges after allegedly assaulting a corrections officer.
The incident happened Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Saratoga County jail in Ballston Spa.
Sheriff’s officials said Jose Guity, age 25, of Queens, kicked the officer in the ribs, injuring them.
The officer was treated at an urgent care facility in Malta and was released.
On Tuesday, Feb. 27, Guity was arraigned in Saratoga Springs City Court on one count of second-degree assault, a felony. He was returned to the county jail without bail.
Fence Builder Ghosts Glenville, Other Homeowners After Taking Thousands, Police Say
The owner of a fence building company is accused of taking thousands of dollars from area homeowners for jobs that were never completed.
Schenectady County resident James Butler, age 30, of Glenville, was arrested on Friday, Feb. 23 on a felony charge of grand larceny.
Glenville Police said Butler, who owns and operates “Trust a Fence,” accepted over $7,000 from a Glenville homeowner to purchase fencing material. However, the job was never finished.
