Port Chester's Carver Center to Showcase Students

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. - Students from Port Chester High School's 21st Century Aspire program are teaming up with the Carver Center in Port Chester to host a student showcase Friday.

The showcase, which begins at 6 p.m., will feature performances from both students participating in the Carver Center's teen programming and in the 21st Century Aspire Program.

"(This) will be a great opportunity for us to showcase the many talents of our students and recognize their accomplishments during the spring semester," Carver Center Teen Programs' manager Lauren Martinez said.

Performances include a choreographed Latin and hip-hop dance, music composed and recorded in the Carver Center's Music Studio and a boxing match between the Carver Center's Boxing team and a rival gym.

Although the event is meant to entertain, attendees are promised to learn more about the Carver Center's new programs, which includes Zumba and AquaFitness.

"Carver Center has and will continue to be a safe haven for all Port Chester residents and an organization dedicated to building brighter futures for the bright young minds of the community," Martinez said.
