Port Chester's Anthony Pellegrini Picked For All-State Symphonic Band

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- Anthony Pellegrini, a senior at Port Chester High School, has been chosen to play baritone saxophone as a member of the New York All-State Symphonic Band.

Pellegrini has the additional honor of being the only person selected for this instrument in New York State.

In addition to his duties as president for the Port Chester High School Band, Pellegrini performs with the PCHS marching, concert and jazz bands, and the Rye Town Community Band. His previous musical honors include “Outstanding Jazz Soloist” at the 2012 Williamsburg, Va. Festival, and selection for the 2013 Westchester All-County Jazz Ensemble, the 2013 NYS Band Directors’ Honor Jazz Ensemble and the 2013 Area All-State Concert Band.

The All-State Band will perform at the New York State Music Association’s annual Winter Conference, held in Rochester, on Dec. 8.
