PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- Port Chester Middle School inducted 34 students into the National Junior Honor Society Wednesday.
The seventh- and eighth-grade students were selected based on their performance in scholarship, service, leadership, character and citizenship. All students achieved a minimum cumulative grade point average of 88, demonstrated leadership in at least two school organizations, and completed at least 10 hours of service to the school and community. All applicants were required to write an essay on one or more character traits.
The inducted students were: Marileysis Aguirre, Lindsay Aloia, Taina Alvarez, Marissa Arminio, Nicole Barros, Hope Baxter, William Brakewood, Debra Caminade, Christina Chumpitazi, Christian Chumpitazi, Mailynn Dempson, Kiersten Dick, Waheed Gonzalez, Deneesha Gracesande, Faith Hudson, Brendan Johnston, Zoe Kim, Joelle LaGuardia, Alexandra Manos, Taylor Masi, Gisella McCallion, Cristian Mendez, Joel Millares, Robert Perrone, Christian Ramirez, Kiara Reyes, Kimberly Reyes, Joe Ribiero, Reanna Rosenfeld, Cole Russo, Grace Simmons, Zachary Stever, Michelle Zapata and Nicole Zhagui.
