Open Door Family Medical Centers is a federally-qualified community health organization that operates five school-based health centers in the Port Chester School District. These centers serve more than 3,000 students, according to a press release.

Services on the van will not be limited to preventive care. Open Door hopes to screen all children whose parents request dental services and provide comprehensive dental care for students who require it. Vans also will be parked at schools, eliminating the need for children to leave the school to receive dental services. For information about Open Door’s school-based health center and mobile dental program contact Ellette Hirschorn at 914-406-8214 or by email, ehirschorn@odfmc.org.
