The Board announced on Thursday, Nov. 15 that Joe Mazza, who it says has 19 years of “rich and meaningful experiences,” will take over as principal at the middle school, effective as of Monday, Dec. 10.

According to the Board, “Dr. Mazza’s experiences are robust and diverse as a result of serving as a 3rd-grade teacher, bilingual assistant principal (K-8), and middle school vice-principal (6-8) in Illinois, and eventually as a tenured elementary principal (K-6) in suburban Philadelphia.

"Dr. Mazza currently serves as the Leadership Innovation Manager at the University of Pennsylvania, Graduate School of Education.”

While traversing the country, Mazza has acted as a guest columnist for several educational publications and his work has been featured in 15 books on subjects such as school leadership, family-community engagement, school innovations, mental health and the well-being of servant educators.

The Board described Mazza as “someone who is committed to creating the optimum learning environment that matches skills, and unique needs of all students, while creating lifelong learners and productive citizens who are compassionate and empathetic.

“We are excited to have Joe join our leadership team and the Seven Bridges community,” Superintendent of Schools Christine Ackerman said. “He has a proven track record of continuous improvement, innovation, and transparent communication while honoring and respecting the school culture.”
