Two Mamaroneck Town Residents Report Burglaries

MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Two town residents reported burglaries in their homes within the last week.

An Ellsworth Road woman, 79, reported that someone broke in through the front door of her home on Jan. 10 between 4:10 p.m. and 6:13 p.m. The alarm system activated, but a gold pendant worth $1,000 and a Dell laptop were stolen.A Valley Road woman, 51, reported that someone entered her home and stole an iPhone worth $400, an iPod Touch worth $300 and $400 dollars in cash, among other property. There were no signs of forced entry and the second-degree burglary reportedly happened Jan. 8 between 12:05 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. The suspects in each case are unknown, said Lt. Robert Koziak of the Town of Mamaroneck Police Department.Other news from the Town of Mamaroneck Police Blotter:Petit Larceny: An Edgewood Avenue woman, 53, reported that someone stole a ceramic baby Jesus worth $200, which was part of a nativity scene, from her front lawn sometime between Jan. 7 at 9 p.m. and Jan. 8 at 3 a.m.Petit Larceny: A Rocky Hollow Drive man, 23, reported that someone stole his Garmin Nuvi GPS, worth $250 from his car, which was unlocked in front of his home. The theft occurred sometime between Dec. 27 at 12:01 a.m. and Jan. 7 at 4:34 p.m.
