Nonna Confirmed As County Attorney

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- John Nonna's appointment as Westchester County Attorney was confirmed Monday night by the Board of Legislators.

John Nonna, an attorney, former Westchester County Legislator, and former Mayor of Pleasantville, has been named to the Westchester Community College's Board of Trustees.

Nonna, who previously served on the Board of Legislators and as mayor of Pleasantville was nominated by County Executive George Latimer in December.

After his election, Latimer appointed Nonna to help lead his transition team. Nonna was recently a partner at the law firm of Squire, Patton, Boggs.

The county attorney seeks to maximize the recovery of monies to which the county is entitled and to minimize the county's liabilities in the most cost-effective way possible.
