Two Charged In Port Chester Car Break-In

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – Two Port Chester teens were charged with petty larceny for allegedly breaking into a car and stealing money from an envelope, police said.

A report of three males breaking into cars on Cottage Street came into police on July 20 around 12:30 a.m., according to Lt. James Ladearious. Responding officers spotted three males walking in the vicinity of Cottage Street. The trio ran when police approached and two of them were found hiding under a car on Leonard Street, police said.

The owner of the broken into car said it contained an envelope with $500 in cash, according to Ladearious. Police found approximately $300 cash on the teens when they were arrested. The third male was not found. 

Brandon Ray Thomas, 18, of 41 Leonard St., and Patrick Mahonski, 18, of 111 Midland Ave., were each charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor. They were due in court Monday.
