Port Chester Police Recover 16 Guns, Cocaine, Heroin In Two Arrests

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – Police made two drug arrests in two days as part of separate ongoing investigations, and say they recovered hand guns, cocaine, heroin and marijuana in both, Port Chester Police Chief Richard Conway said.

In one, police say they found 15 handguns, seven of which were allegedly stolen, about half of a kilo of cocaine, 1.9 grams of heroin and 2 pounds of marijuana while executing a search warrant on the apartment of Francis Pena, a Port Chester resident.

The suspect, 32, of 100 Liecester St., was arrested Thursday, Aug. 21, by Port Chester police and turned over to federal authorities assisting them in the ongoing investigation. The federal agencies are the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

Local police are also working with Westchester County District Attorney’s Office and the Westchester County Police Department’s narcotics unit.

A day earlier, Aug. 20, Conway another Port Chester man was arrested after police executed a search warrant on his home as part of a separate ongoing investigation by both local and county police.

Diego Orozco-Barajas was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of marijuana.

Among the evidence recovered was a 9MM handgun, which police say was stolen. They also recovered eight grams of crack cocaine, six packages of heroin, one pound of marijuana and numerous prescription pills and drug packaging equipment. Additionally, an unspecified amount of money was found, which police described as a large amount.
