PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – A 32-year-old Port Chester man was charged with robbery, a felony, for allegedly stealing $20 from a woman who lives in his building, police said.
The 51-year-old woman told police she was mugged at her residence Monday. She said she had gone to the store with Sharnard Gillison, of 381 Irving Ave., Port Chester, and he asked her several times for money.
The woman denied his repeated requests, and upon returning to her home he pulled her coat over her head, went through her pockets and stole $20 in cash, according to Lt. Jim Ladeairous, spokesman for the Police Department.
Gillison fled and was arrested upon his return and charged with third-degree robbery, a class D felony, Ladeairous said.
