STAMFORD, Conn. -- Port Chester Police recently charged Stamford's Sheila Mara, daughter of the late New York Giants Owner Wellington Mara, with driving under the influence after hitting a taxi cab, according to a report from Patch.

Police charged the 52-year-old Mara with driving under the influence, traveling the wrong way on a one-way street and leaving the scene of an accident, according to the Patch report. Police reported that Mara was driving along Adee and King streets in Port Chester at about 2 a.m. Nov. 23 when she struck the taxi cab, according to Patch.

"The mototrist continued up King Street and ignored a police cruiser in pursuit with its lights flashing and sirens wailing, police said," according to the report. "The Jeep nearly reached Rye Brook when a second officer passed the vehicle and then slowed down, forcing it to stop near King Street and Comly Avenue, (Police Lt. James) Ladeairous said."

Ladearious reported that Mara was over twice the legal limit, according to the Patch report.
