The ruling came just after Rye Brook filed a lawsuit against Port Chester for violation of their shared fire services contract, lohud.com said.

Port Chester made the decision to eliminate its paid fire department last week, facilitating the lawsuit, reported lohud.com.

Both villages' mayors plan to meet to try to resolve the issue, lohud.com noted.
