PORT CHESTER, N. Y. -- The attorney representing the fired professional Port Chester firefighters is calling on officials to dismiss the volunteer fire chief, News 12 reports.
Attorney Richard Corenthal says Volunteer Fire Chief Edward Quinn can be heard on audiotape encouraging other volunteer firefighters to damage the Port Chester home of a professional firefighter. Port Chester officials say Quinn denies the allegations, News 12 says.
Professional firefighters from throughout the area have been protesting Port Chester's decision to fire the professional firefighters in avor of an all- volunteer department in an effort to save money. Corenthal told News 12 that the incident is an example of why volunteers shouldn't be leading the department.
