RYE BROOK, N.Y. - Mildred O. Weeks of Rye Brook died June 1. She was 99.

Weeks was born Dec. 31, 1914, to Jasper F. and Florence S. Odell in the Bronx. As a child, she studied piano and ballet. She was captain of Islip High School's championship basketball team when she graduated at age 16. After relocating to Rye Brook in 1957, she was employed as a legal secretary in Greenwich, first for the firm of Hirschberg, Pettengill & Strong and then at Ivey, Barnum & O'Mara. In the 1960s, she also taught at Greenwich Adult Continuing Education typing class. Later, at Cummings & Lockwood, she used her extensive paralegal skills to manage the Real Estate Department at the Stamford Office until her retirement in 1984. For many years, she was a member of the Greenwich Travel Club. She participated in the G.R.E.A.T.S. and appreciated the enrichment of Greenwich Senior Center programs.

Weeks is survived by her daughters, Marilyn (Theodore) Jurkops of Lancaster, Va., and Nancy (Michael) Finlay of Greenwich, Conn.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

There will be a memorial service at the Anderson Chapel of First Presbyterian Church, One West Putnam Avenue, Greenwich at a later date. Interment will follow at her family's plot on Long Island.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church , Greenwich or the Greenwich Symphony Orchestra.
