PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- Eric Lundell, a native and long time resident of the Port Chester-Rye area, died June 3 in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. He was 91.

Mr. Lundell is survived by five sons, Allan, Wayne, Norman, Carl, and William Lundell, and four grandchildren, Sherry, Christopher, Robert, and Joseph Lundell.

He was the last living family member of the iconic Lundell's Flowers and Nursery on Ridge Street, across from St. Mary's Cemetery, a family business that served the community with flowers, plants, trees and a smile for over 50 years.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Coast Guard at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyards, and later in the European Theater. As part of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, he was recently honored for 50 years of service.  Eric was also a long time member of the Masonic Lodge in Port Chester, N.Y., and had an exceptional talent of connecting people to others they needed to meet.

A memorial service for friends and family will be held later this summer.  For further info, contact his son Carl Lundell at
