PORT CHESTER, N.Y. --  In case you weren't able to check in with The Port Chester Daily Voice every day, here are some of the top stories from Port Chester and Rye Brook this week.

  • Rye Brook held a swearing-in ceremony for newly-elected Mayor Paul Rosenberg and Trustees Jeffrey Rednick, Jason Klein and Susan Epstein. Rosenberg said he looks forward to the position, and said the board would be working on a new comprehensive plan for the village and loosening Rye Brook's zoning codes.
  • Pier 1 Imports opened a new location in the Port Chester Shopping Center. The popular purveyor of decorative home furnishing and gifts will utilize a new store concept that the franchise debuted in 2011.
  • A Port Chester man was charged with falsifying documents in a bid for the Rye police uniform contract. John Holmes, owner of New England Sportswear, was charged with providing a false letter of warranty to the city, which is a felony.
