State police are on the scene of an accident involving a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian on Interstate 95 in Greenwich late Saturday afternoon, according to NBC Connecticut.
The pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, and no further information was available on the victim's condition, NBC Connecticut said.
The right and center lanes on I-95 south was closed between Exits 3 and 2 as a result of the 4:30 p.m. accident, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
I-95 southbound is congested for over 5 miles back to Exit 7 after the accident, DOT said. It was not clear how long the lanes would be closed.
