PORT CHESTER, N.Y. - The Restaurant Depot, a cash and carry food service wholesaler, opened a new location Wednesday on South Regent St. in Port Chester.
The Restaurant Depot bills itself as the place where restaurants shop, and are purely in business to supply the needs of the food service industry. The project came to fruition, in part, because of efforts by the Port Chester Industrial Development Agency.
PCIDA's Vice-chairman Joseph Kenner feels that adding the Restaurant Depot to Port Chester was well worth the agencys time. The Restaurant Depot furthers many important Village goals, Kenner released in a statement to the media. Kenner, who is also the Deputy Mayor for Port Chester, added that it strengthens the village's well deserved reputation as the restaurant capital of Westchester.
Out of the fifty-five jobs created by the project, the PCIDA confirmed that thirty-nine of them were filled by Port Chester residents.
