Bieber is one of just two volunteers in the county to receive the award, which is given each year in April, National Volunteer Month.

“Michelle’s dedication to Neighbors Link is unmatched,” said Sara Levine, Family Center manager at Neighbors Link Northern Westchester. “Our childcare room runs more smoothly when Michelle is there. She always has a smile on her face and some people here even say she has a zen-like quality.”

Bieber sometimes brings her middle-school daughter, Sydney, along when she comes to volunteer, something she has been doing since December of 2013.

“I am very dedicated to supporting Westchester’s immigrant community,” Bieber commented. “And I believe it’s important to involve my daughter in that commitment as well. By joining me at Neighbors Link, Sydney is learning firsthand the benefits of volunteering, both for herself and for others.”

Headquartered in Mount Kisco, Neighbors Link Northern Westchester's mission is to strengthen the whole community through the healthy integration of immigrants.
