Benatar Postpones Tour, Canceling Port Chester Show

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- Rock sensation Pat Benatar and her husband-guitarist, Neil "Spyder" Giraldo, announced the postponement of their 35th anniversary U.S. tour on Wednesday, Dec. 3, prompting the cancellation of Friday's concert at the Capitol Theatre for the second time this fall.

The Port Chester theater has stopped selling tickets for the Dec. 5 show. An official announcement from the Capitol Theatre was expected Thursday, Dec. 4.

The Capitol's marketing coordinator said, "Yes, it's officially rescheduled, but we don't have the date yet."

After the postponement of Benatar's Oct. 10 concert, Capitol Theatre ticket holders were advised to hold onto their original tickets and were promised refunds if they could not attend the Dec. 5 concert. The same policy is expected to remain in effect.

Both postponements are a result of Cher canceling her Dressed To Kill (D2K) tour due to persistent medical problems. Shortly before resuming her tour in September, Cher was felled by an infection that affected her kidney function. Doctors have advised her to take more time off the road to ensure a complete recovery. Benatar and Giraldo had been special guests on Cher's tour.
