Breaking News: Alert Issued For Teen Who's Gone Missing In Westchester

Ruth Grapsky, 84, Lifelong Port Chester Resident

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – Ruth Gloria Grapsky, 84, a lifelong Port Chester resident, died April 18, with family at her side.

She was born Jan. 6, 1928 to the late Walter and Carrie (Miles) Grapsky. She worked as a credit manager for W.T. Grant Company. After retiring, Grapsky’s passion was caring for children.

A parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Church, Grapsky enjoyed playing bingo, going on shopping excursions with her sisters and cooking gourmet meals for her family.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Florence (Fabian) Dorazio and Patricia (John) Perkins; a brother, Walter Grapsky; and a brother-in-law, Philip Conelias. She is survived by two sisters, Helen Conelias and Sharon (Albert) Tucci; her best friend Dolores Rappaport; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday at Craft Memorial Home in Port Chester. The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday at Our Lady of Mercy Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Greenwich, Conn.
