Rose will be on hand to demonstrate her newest book, “Creative Source Coloring,” a book for people with dementia or Alzheimer’s. Pinot’s Palette is located at 108 Mamaroneck Ave. Rose’s book will be on sale for $15, cash only. Admission is free.

A lifelong Port Chester resident, Rose “knows the feeling of being pulled in all directions being in the sandwich generation,” caring for her family, being a caregiver for mom and working.

The author of the popular “Mom’s Time Out” series needed to give her mom, who’s living with Alzheimer’s, something different to do. With adult coloring books all the rage now, Rose thought a coloring book might work for her mother. But the books Rose found while browsing in the arts and crafts store required a high level of concentration and intricate design that would not be a good fit. Being an artist and teacher,

Rose took matters into her own hands and created her own coloring/activity book that she thought would work well. Not only is it basic but this edition keeps one in touch with famous artists and their masterpieces. It also has word search games, mazes and blank creative space pages to express one’s own artistry.
