Pilla said he made arrangements with both facilities to provide showers for residents without power or displaced by Hurricane Sandy or Wednesday's snowstorm .
The LA Fitness shower facility is available from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Residents need only bring a towel and ask for Andrew upon arrival. "Here at LA Fitness we want to do something nice for the community and open our doors to them in this time of need," general manager Andrew Wilen said in a release. LA Fitness is located at 260 Boston Post Road.
The Carver Center shower facility is available from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily. Those showering should bring soap and a towel and check in at the front entrance. Carver operations director Joe Kwasniewski said, "Our mission is to support Port Chester people in need. We open our doors not just to our shower facilities, but also to our clothes closet and food pantry, for any displaced resident to get warm clothes, non-perishable foods, and a hot shower."
Carver Center is located at 400 Westchester Ave.
