PORT CHESTER, N.Y. Marie Augustine, a lifelong resident of Port Chester, died May 18. She was 70.
Augustine was born March 29, 1942, to Vito and Lillian Carriello Sileo. In 1960, she graduated from Port Chester High School. Augustine worked in the payroll department of Bantam Toys in Port Chester, where she met her husband, John. They were married on May 31, 1964.
After raising her children, she returned to work as a part-time cashier at the Woolworth's Department Store in Rye Brook.
Augustine is survived by her husband, John; two daughters, Joyce and Janice Augustine, both of Port Chester; a sister, Jo-Anne Horvath, of Norwalk, Conn., and many family members. Her sister, Jean Iannarelli, predeceased her.
A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Port Chester. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Rye Brook. Gunipero Farenga Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
