Yankovic, known for his song parodies, is kicking off The Ridiculously Self-Indulgent Ill-Advised Vanity Tour at the Bardavon Opera House in Poughkeepsie on Feb. 27 and then is performing at the Tarrytown Music Hall on March 1. Tickets go on sale Friday at noon.

The tour will feature no costumes, no props, no video screens, and no song parodies, Yankovic said. Instead, Yankovic plans to play exclusively original songs, including many deep cuts and obscure tracks.

"Obviously this tour is not for everybody," Yankovic said. "By design, it has extremely limited appeal. Instead of doing festivals, fairs and arenas, we’ll be doing small, intimate theatres. Instead of putting on a big flashy production, we’ll be trying to go for something very informal and low-key."

Yankovic said previous tours were highly produced and had to be planned right down to the second, making each show the same. That won't be the case for this tour.

"Every single show will be different," Yankovic said. "We’re going deep into the catalog and mixing up the setlist every night. This show will be loose, unpredictable, and maybe a little sloppy – we’ll be making it up as we go along."
