PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- Driving along Boston Post Road in Rye and Port Chester was like night and day on Thursday.

About 2 p.m., slush and snow still cluttered many streets in the city of Rye, including Route 1, while in Port Chester, many plows were readily visible, clearing Boston Post Road near interstates 95 and 287 as well as village streets.
