Traffic Alert: Road Closure In Port Chester

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. - As contracting crews continue work on sewer repairs in downtown Port Chester, motorists can expect to begin seeing nightly delays in the area beginning on Monday evening.

Beginning on Monday, northbound lanes on North Main Street, from Westchester Avenue to Adee Street will be closed from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. as repair work is done on the sewers. The project is expected to last approximately a month at Willet and North Main Street.

"We realize this is going to cause traffic, but by doing this at night, hopefully (it) will ease some of the burden," officials said. "Unfortunately, this must be done now to upgrade our downtown system."
