The New York State Department of Transportation announced that beginning on Monday, Jan. 8, the northbound side of the parkway, between Exit 20 (I-87 to I-287) and Exit 21 (Route 119) will be reduced to a single lane and the I-87 ramp (Exit 7A) to the parkway northbound will be closed.

The closures are expected to last through May.

According to the NYSDOT, motorists on I-87 northbound intending to use Exit 7A should follow the posted detour. A single lane of traffic will be maintained in both directions at the location, but delays are expected for several months.
