More than a year after a father of four was brutally stabbed to death in front of his Long Island home in an attack that also left his wife hospitalized, their assailant has formally confessed.
Candelario Cordova, age 54, of Huntington Station, pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and related charges in Suffolk County Court on Tuesday, May 14, in the killing of 58-year-old Roque Cisneros.

In response to community complaints, Suffolk County Police Second Precinct Crime Section officers led an investigation at Cleopatra Foot Spa in Huntington Station, located at 1783 New York Ave., at approximately 3 p.m. Monday, March 11.
The manager, Xiu Rong Lin, age 61, of Flushing, Queens, was charged with criminal nuisance, a misdemeanor.

Huntington Station Man Has Been Missing For Nearly 3 Months, Family Says
Police are now involved in the disappearance of a Long Island man who has been missing for nearly three months.
Walter Antonio Portillo Rivera, age 28, of Huntington Station, was reported missing on Monday, Jan. 29, according to Suffolk County Police.
A relative told detectives that Rivera hasn’t been seen or heard from since Nov. 6, 2023.
He does not have a cell phone, any known friends, or social media accounts, police said.
He also does not have a job or any credit cards that could be traced, and he left his passport at home.

16-Year-Old Confesses To Ambush Killing Of 'Intelligent, Proud Godfather' In Huntington
A teenager has confessed to fatally shooting a 21-year-old man in an ambush killing on Long Island.
Ramon Lyons, age 16, of Huntington Station, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in Suffolk County Court on Wednesday, Oct. 18, in the death of Luis Cameron Rimmer-Hernandez.
According to prosecutors, Lyons ran up to the victim as he stood talking to friends in Huntington Station, on Lowndes Avenue, shortly before 11 p.m. on Aug. 9, 2021.
Lyons, who was 14 at the time, admitted to firing nearly seven shots from a 9 mm handgun, striking the man multiple times in the chest and arm.

Rite Aid Announces 14 Long Island Stores Slated For Closure After Declaring Bankruptcy
Rite Aid has announced specific store closures just days after the struggling pharmacy chain filed for bankruptcy.
Of the 154 closures nationwide announced on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 20 are in New York, 14 of which are on Long Island.
