A cockfighting ring was uncovered in the garage of a Bucks County home this week, officials said.
Twenty-five people fled when officials from the Bucks County SPCA and Plumstead police arrived to the Doylestown property Sunday afternoon, Feb. 18, the Bucks SPCA said.
Cesar Cordova-Morales, who remained at the scene, was detained by police. He was carrying a satchel containing several bottles of steroids, cutting instruments, string, artificial metal spurs, spur covers, and other items commonly used in cockfighting, police said. A Pennsylvania husband will not be charged in his wife's suicide, police said.
The Doylestown woman, 83, had only days or weeks to live when her husband of 60 years returned home one day in August 2023, and found the car running in their closed garage, the Bucks County District Attorney's Office said.
The woman had been researching doctor-assisted death options and suicide, and had been receiving hospice care, police said.

Bucks County EMT, Firefighter Dies At 27
Glen D. Golembeski II, an emergency medical technician in Bensalem, died after a period of illness on Sunday, Oct. 1, according to loved ones and former colleagues. He was 27.
A Doylestown native, Golembeski was a 2014 graduate of Central Bucks East High School, his obituary says. He went on to study forensic science at West Virginia University, according to his Facebook.
Golembeski spent the last five years as an EMT with Bensalem Rescue Squad, loved ones wrote in his obit.

A Bucks County man faces several misdemeanor charges after police say he made off with the tip jar from an area business.
Authorities were called to EZ Laundry, 565 N. Main St. in Doylestown, early on Tuesday, March 21, for a report of theft, Central Bucks Regional police said in a statement.

State police are investigating after a Bucks County teen and recent high school graduate was killed in a boating accident in Wayne County.
Dominic Testani, 18, of Doylestown, was found more than seven hours after the accident was reported in Lake Township early Saturday, March 18, troopers at the Honesdale barracks said in a statement.
