Port Chester Racks up Pins in Win Over Harrison

HARRISON, N.Y. -- It does not matter what sport it is, when Port Chester and Harrison meet, both teams are motivated to perform at the highest level and come away with the win. Port Chester displayed an ability to finish, recording five first-period pins in a 67-17 victory over Harrison in a wrestling match Thursday. Joey Rodriguez (113 pounds), John Guido (145), Justin Karas (152), George Leyva (182) and Cristian Zamano (220) finished their matches before the first period concluded. Kevin Rodriguez (99) and Alfredo Cavala (106) also pinned for the Rams. “I thought our kids wrestled tough and were very aggressive,” Port Chester coach Greg Domestico said. “We feel we’ve been improving every time we get on the mat. Our 106-pounder, Alfredo Zavala, has been coming along lately and wrestling very well.” Harrison’s wins came from its three captains -- Joe Maida (120), Gavin Menchel (138) and David Polakoff (132).
