Date Reminders Issued For New York's Hunting Season

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- This hunting season is expected see more than 800,000 hunters, who create millions of dollars in revenue for New York State, according to lohudblogs.com.

The following are important upcoming dates listed on the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation website:

Bowhunting season: began on Sept. 27 in northern New York and will begin on Oct. 1 for the rest of the state.

Turkey season: Northern New York begins Oct. 1 and Northern New York begins Oct. 25.

Coyote season: begins on Oct. 1 for the entire state.

Bear season: early bowhunting in Southern New York begins on Oct. 1.

Bobcat season: begins on Oct. 25 for parts of the state.

Trapping: begins on Oct. 25.

Turkey season: Northern New York begins Oct. 1 and Northern New York begins Oct. 25.
