The budget was passed with 555 votes in favor and 113 votes against. Goldstein was running unopposed for the only open seat on the board and received 510 votes. Voters also approved an Energy Performance Contract that designates up to $3.14 million to be spent on upgrades to the schools' heating and ventilation systems. The contract was passed with 534 votes in favor and 94 votes against.
The approved 2013-14 budget is $41,252,239, a 3.23 percent increase over last year's budget. The tax levy will increase 3.25 percent. The budget includes four new teachers at the middle school, two teachers at the elementary school and a new guidance counselor.
