Niche compiled statistics for over 13,000 public schools with at least 100 students enrolled and graded them on a set of eight weighted factors including:
- Academics
- Health and safety
- Student culture and diversity
- Parent and student surveys
- Teachers' grade
- Resources and facilities
- Extracurriculars and activities
- Sports
Rye City Schools eighth overall due to posting top marks of "A+" in the academics, teachers' grade, extracurriculars and sports categories.
Rye City's lowest mark was a "C" in student culture and diversity.
Blind Brook-Rye Union Free was ranked 17th after receiving top marks in the academics, teachers' grade and resources categories.
Rye Neck Union Free was ranked 22nd overall, boasting five "A+" grades.
The top school in the nation, according to Niche, was Edgemont.
Three other Westchester County school districts cracked the top 25: Scarsdale Union Free (No.5), Chappaqua (No. 8) and Bronxville (No. 20).
