Port Chester Students Play In All-State Music Festival

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – Nine students from Port Chester High School will play in the New York State School Music Association’s (NYSSMA) Area All-State Music Festival on Thursday, Nov. 5.

Samuel Brown and Charles Simmons, trombones; will perform with the Area All-State Band. Their conductor will be Patrick Burns.

Elizabeth Montemurro and Briana Velazquez, sopranos; Danielle Winchester, alto; Michael Bansey and Robert Perrone, tenors; will sing with the Area All-State Mixed Choir. Their conductor will be Dr. Steven Fryling,

Taylor Masi and Gisella McCallion, altos; will sing with the Area All-State Women’s Choir. Jing Ling-Tam will be their conductor.

The school vocal music teacher is Linda Ventura. Their school band director is Robert Vitti.

Westchester County high-school musicians auditioned last spring for NYSSMA’s annual festival.

The performance will be at the Performing Arts Center at Purchase College at 8 p.m.
