The day will provide elementary teachers the opportunity to share and network.

The event starts at 8:30 a.m. at the school auditorium at 40 Olivia Street. There, Catriona Anderson, PreK-5 Project Manager from Common Core, Inc., will provide some background and context to the math curriculum.

Guest educators and principals will visit classrooms all day as the JFK teachers deliver math instruction using modules provided by the New York State Education Department. Both monolingual and bilingual settings are open for visits.

“Our hope is that this day will be the genesis for future discussions and sharing of information and resources related to lesson planning, formative assessment, pacing, materials, translations, and more,” said Louis Cuglietto, principal of the school, in a release.
