Port Chester Music Students Honored

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. –  Thirty four Port Chester students were recently honored for their musical talents and accomplishments.

The Port Chester School board recognized 34 students for their musical accomplishments during Wednesday's board meeting.

The Port Chester School board recognized the students Wednesday for being selected to the New York State and Westchester County School Music Association ensembles.

“It just makes you feel good when you can honor the kids and show what we do,” School Board President James Dreves said.

Elementary through high school students were selected to the groups after auditioning for a chance to play.

The students selected to the elementary all-county chorus include:

JFK Elementary School soprano clarinet players Jessica Garcia, Sheyla Michala, and alto sax players Penelope Alvarez and Carla Gonzalez;

Edison Elementary School soprano clarinet players Marcela Calderon and Alia James and alto saxophone players Daliah Dominquez and Sofia Montenegro; 

King Street soprano clarinet players Lindsay Co and Faith Tomasula and alto saxophone players Ashley Cabrera and Chiara Michos;

Park Avenue Elementary School soprano clarinet  players Francesca LaDore, and Nina Reyes and alto saxophone players Kara Hodge and Olivia Perrone;

Port Chester Middle School soprano clarinet players Lilly Baxter and Antonio Carcamo, and alto saxophone players Isabella Rios, and Darby McDermott.

Students chosen to the elementary school All-County Band were: 

King Street School  trumpet player Molly Brakewood, Port Chester Middle School alto saxophone player Eli Taylor-Lemire and flutist Darby McDermott;

Clarinet player Emmalie Tello made the state high school honor concert band, and area all-state band.

Other musicians honored were baritone saxophone player Anthony Pellegrini and trumpet player Isabella Roca, who were selected to the state high school honor jazz ensemble. Both students also made the high school all-county jazz ensemble; Trombone players Samuel Brown and John Montemurro were also selected, along with trumpet player Brooke Pietrafesa,and alto saxophone alternate Nate Winchester;

Port Chester Middle School soprano Jaquelin Granados made intermediate school All-County chorus;
