PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- Approximately 300 Port Chester Middle School students will have their science projects on display in the school's gymnasium between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 13, as part of "Young Scientist Day."

Each student chose a scientific question to be researched, and then designed and carried out a formal experiment to gather results and come to a conclusion.

Some topics this year include "What type of paper towel is the strongest?"; “Does talking to plants affect their growth?"; "How do freezing temperatures affect different types of rocks?"; and "How does caffeine affect heart rate?"

Both sixth-graders and seventh-graders will view each others work.
