Three trombone players, seniors Samuel Brown and Charles Simmons, and sophomore Lauren Pellegrini were recently selected to participate in the Westchester All-County Jazz Ensemble.

They performed in the 26th annual Westchester County School Music Association’s (WCSMA) All-County Jazz Festival, at Edgemont High School on March 18.

Brown also received statewide recognition when he was chosen for the New York State Band Directors’ Association’s (NYSBDA) High School Honor Jazz Ensemble. He traveled to Liverpool, N.Y. for an intensive weekend of rehearsals and clinics, at the 35th Annual NYSBDA Symposium, culminating in a formal concert on March 6.

The students’ school band director is Robert Vitti.
