PORT CHESTER, N.Y. - Port Chester High School's TV Production club shot and performed their New Year's variety show, "Winter Party Time, on Wednesday. According to TV Production teacher George Shepard, the taping marked the fifth episode in the series.
"As you can see it's a little rough around the edges," Shepard said after the show. "But it comes out pretty good."
The "semi-live" performance featured musical performances from students Glen Williams, Kevin Patano, as well as Shepard's band "Mysterious George. The show was bookended by two piano solos from History teacher Santo Lagana and was emceed by sophomore Daniel Martinez.
"I thought it went pretty well," Martinez said after the show. "It didn't come out like I expected, but it was pretty good."
Martinez became a member of the TV Production club when he was a freshman last year.
"I like it," Martinez said of the club. "We're currently working on a western where I play a bounty hunter, and I like acting so I'm anxious to get that done."
Freshman Kevin Patano, who one day wants to be famous, wrote and performed the original song for the show.
"It was interesting, but I had fun," Patano said. "The song's called Fly Free as a Bird, and it's about following your dreams."
According to Shepard, the club should have the finished product in about two weeks.
