Pace Media Professor Diane Cypkin Earns 2015 Carol Russett Award

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Dr. Diane Cypkin, professor of the Media and Communication Arts Department at Pace University, has won the 2015 Carol Russett Award.

Cypkin will be presented with the award at the annual awards luncheon to be held on Friday, April 24 from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Knollwood Country Club in Elmsford.

This award, presented by the  Westchester/Rockland Region for the NYS American Council on Education Women’s Network recognizes an outstanding woman educator/administrator in the field of higher education who embodies the characteristics of the woman for whom the award was developed and named in 1992 – Dr. Carol S. Russett from Westchester Community College.

Pace has had several award winners: Dr. Sue Merritt, Dr. Ellen Mandel, Dr. Bernice Houle, Joan Mark (former Executive Director of Career Services), and Dr. Susan L. Maxam. 

The criteria is a woman educator who: dedicates herself to higher education by serving her students, colleagues, and institution generously; demonstrates a personal commitment to professional growth and enrichment; unselfishly has given of her time and energy in assisting other women in their professional development as a mentor and role model; demonstrates an interest and concern for her community outside the academic environment; and exemplifies the mission of the American Council on Education Women’s Network.
