PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- Several students from the Blind Brook School District were recently chosen as members of the Westchester Intermediate All-County Orchestra and Band.
Students from Blind Brook Middle School were Conner Vogt, grade 9, for the orchestra and for the band were Annie Liu, grade 8; Divya Kumaran, grade 9; Adam Fleishaker, grade 9; and Sammy Landino, grade 9, according to a press release.
"These students were selected on the basis of outstanding performances at last year’s New York State Music Association’s Spring Solo Festival," according to a press release from the school district..
The students are set to perform with the groups at 11 a.m. March 8 at SUNY Purchase, according to the release.
"The District is also pleased to announce that five Blind Brook High School Students have been accepted into this year’s Westchester County Area All-State Band and Orchestra," representatives wrote in the release. "Chosen for the Band are Melissa Blum, Jason Rosenberg and Evan Wallace and for the Orchestra, Daniel O’Neil and Will Saunders. These students were accepted on the basis of their outstanding performance at last year’s New York State School Music Association’s Spring Solo festival."
The students will perform with the Area All-State Band at 8 p.m. Nov. 7 at SUNY Purchase, according to the release.
