PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- Avison Young, the world’s fastest-growing commercial real estate services firm, has been retained by G&S Investors to serve as exclusive leasing agent and property manager for The Waterfront at Port Chester.

The 500,000-square-foot shopping center is located on 20 acres of land near New York's border with Greenwich, Conn.

With more than 2,200 on-site parking spaces, it offers a wide range of national tenants including Stop & Shop, Marshalls, Walgreens, Costco and Bed Bath & Beyond. A 14-screen Loews Cinema also is located on the property adjacent to the enclosed parking area.

The Avison Young team of Jedd Nero, principal and executive managing director of New York City retail -- and associates Christa Goulakos and Jeremy Schwartz -- will be responsible for leasing the shopping center’s retail space.

A total of 35,750 square feet of space is currently available for rent -- in parcels ranging from 1,447 to 13,000 square feet.

“Situated near the Greenwich, Connecticut, border and in close proximity to New York City, the Waterfront at Port Chester is in the heart of one of country’s premier retail areas,” Nero said in a press statement.

“With an affluent population of close to 300,000 people living in a seven-mile radius of the property, the Waterfront presents a compelling option for retailers seeking a modern, well-anchored shopping center,'' Nero said. "We anticipate strong interest in the space from a wide range of prospective tenants, from international to local retailers.”

Located along the Byram River, the property is close to Interstates 95 and 287, and adjacent to a Metro-North train station, providing easy access to Manhattan as well as Connecticut.

From developing the property to bringing in a wide range of major brands, G and S Investors was extremely successful in creating an attractive shopping destination on Port Chester's waterfront, Nero added.

“Ownership retained Avison Young to sign leading local and national retailers and to upgrade the quality of on-site property management,'' Nero said. "We’re confident that we will be able to continue to attract quality tenants and ensure the best experience for both tenants and shoppers.”

Headquartered in Toronto, Canada, Avison Young is owned and operated by its principals. Founded in 1978, the company employs more than 2,000 real estate professionals in 73 offices.
