Ritz Carlton 'Dream Home' Offers Glimpse Of Future

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Westchester County residents don’t have to wait years to get a feel for futuristic living. The Dream Home at The Ritz Carlton in White Plains features unbelievable details that offer the latest in luxury.

The home includes 5,400 square feet of living space with floor-to-ceiling windows. There are three bedrooms, People can see New York City, Long Island Sound, the Hudson River and the Hudson Valley. With the foliage beginning to turn, the picturesque setting might be at its height over the next few weeks.

Designer Barbara Bell of Tarrytown oversaw the project, which sits 40 floors high in downtown White Plains. She has designed penthouses in New York City and combines the best of comfort, functionality and beauty in the Dream Home at the Ritz.

The living room included a mounted TV, fireplace and spectacular furnishings from a variety of vendors. A wet bar nearby provided the perfect complement.

A dining area situated near the windows offered a surreal view and led into the kitchen with gadgets galore. Cooks barely have to lift a finger, with top-of-the-line appliances and gadgetry that make it impossible not to relish the experience. A fascinating Astrolab dining table, in which gears were visible from the glass top, could be extended with the touch of a finger. The center island featured a waterfall granite countertop and double oven.

The bedrooms each have their own bathroom. The huge bedroom closest to the kitchen offers the flexibility to serve as a home office as well and could also serve as an intimate space for a social gathering. A guest suite, created by Lisa McTernan, created a design and soft color palette to reflect living in the clouds.

The master suite included three closets, designed and custom-fitted by California Closets, and his and her walk-in dressing rooms. The room also included drawers with tailored storage for jewelry, a two-drawer hutch and tilt-out basket for laundry.

The room was defined by several zones, including a seating area and intimate dining space. The master bath, outfitted by Klaff’s, included polished marble flooring, triple shower, waterfall massages and speakers for listening to music.

The home also offers concierge service, valet parking, porter, doorman, fitness center, resident lounge with outdoor sun deck, salon and spa, and even room service.
