Luxury Apartments Officially Open In Port Chester

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. — Alan and Ani Weiner of Rye are packing their bags to move into The Mariner, a long-awaited new luxury rental residence in Port Chester that opened its doors this week.

“The building is absolutely beautiful. Our unit is very spacious. I love the décor, I love the location, I love that we have some of the best restaurants nearby and the movie theater for my kids,” said Ani Weiner, who is moving from a Water’s Edge condominium in Rye. “I feel like this is the new SoHo in Westchester. It’s so up and coming.”

The 100-unit five-story brick building at 21 Willet Ave. on the Byram River waterfront is the latest addition to the village’s downtown renaissance.

“If you live in Westchester, everybody knows Port Chester already has a lot of great factors to it already,” says Nancy Rossi, leasing manager for The Mariner. “A lot of people come here already for the restaurants. People who know the area already know it’s great so those people definitely want to be [at the Mariner] because there’s nothing like this in Westchester. Maybe we are the first in the area to start, but I think it’s going to be of many more to come.”

All apartments feature large windows and 9-foot ceilings, white oak flooring, walk-in closets and washers/dryers. Bedrooms have either wall-to-wall carpeting or hardwood flooring, and some units include terraces or Juliet balconies. Two-bedroom apartments include two bathrooms, including a master bath.

The kitchen and living rooms are configured in an open living arrangement and include quartz countertops, stainless steel Whirlpool gas ranges/ovens, microwaves, refrigerators/freezers and dishwashers.

“The island in the kitchen is the first things I saw. [Nancy Rossi] said to me you’ve got a lot of closet space – I said, ‘I do?’” said Ani Weiner, who has two children ages 11 and 12. “That countertop alone sold me. I saw the layout of the rooms, and I said, 'You know what, I’ll take it.'”

Amenities include a full fitness center with cardio theater, residents' social lounge with a 70-inch flat-screen television and kitchen, private pedestrian access to the waterfront walkway, WiFi in all common areas, a virtual concierge and attended lobby, on-site boat slips and parking as well as a landscaped roof deck, scheduled for completion in two weeks.

“I can’t wait to live here. I like Port Chester - it’s right near a lot of restaurants and walking distance to the movie theater and Costco. It’s on the water and there are views … what’s not to like about this place?” said Alan Weiner, who works in New York City and plans to commute by Metro-North, just a five-minute walk away.

The building has 40 one-bedroom apartments that range from $1,995 to $2,550 per month. The 12 one-bedroom apartments are priced at $2,450 to $2,800 a month. The 44 two-bedroom apartments range from $2,600 to $3,850 a month. The four three-bedroom apartments priced at $3,550 to $3,850 per month.

Sullivan Architectural Group designed the building. Rose Associates is the exclusive leasing agent in Port Chester.
