YORKTOWN, N.Y. - Yorktown Police charged a Cortlandt man with reckless driving earlier this week after his car crashed into a fence and utility pole.
About 4:55 p.m., on June 18, a police officer observed a car traveling at a high rate of speed and passing several vehicles in an unsafe manner on Mohansic Avenue East. The car passed through a stop sign at the intersection of Mohansic Avenue East and Baldwin Road before going out of control as it approached Giordano Drive and veering off the roadway.
David Sutton, 20, of Trolley Road, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Hudson Valley Hospital Center, where he was found to be driving with a suspended license, a misdemeanor. He is scheduled to return to Yorktown Justice Court on July 19.
In other police news:
Forged Instrument: Yorktown Police charged Nicholas Gigliobianco, 32, of Mahopac, with criminal possession of forged instrument in the second degree, a class D felony. He was accused of possessing an illegal prescription on June 19 at 3 p.m. He is scheduled to return to court June 26.
Shoplifting: Maria Schotte, 42, of Ossining, was arrested June 20 and accused of shoplifting $168 worth of assorted clothing from Sears at the Jefferson Valley Mall. Schotte is scheduled to answer a petit larceny charge on July 19 in Yorktown Justice Court.
