PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – Port Chester resident Goldie Solomon wants the benches and village seal to stay put during the upgrade of the village waterfront.
The Port Chester Village Board chose to close all public hearings about the topic during Monday's meeting in a decision that would bring new attractions and other improvements to the village’s waterfront as part of the grant-based Local Waterfront Revitalization Program.
The village will vote next month on whether to accept changes the project would have on the environment, said Christopher Gomez, village director of planning and development.
Although public hearings have ended, residents can submit comments about the upgrade to the village's waterfront for the next 10 days.
The village will then draft and vote on a proposal to send to Albany for approval.
Village officials will then change the project based on suggestions and requirements from New York State.
